The Matthews Christian Academy Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a  rough 58-35 loss at the hands of New Manna Christian. While losing is never fun, Matthews Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 553rd, while New Manna Christian is ranked 210th).
 New Manna Christian's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   A J Goode, who  scored 31 points. Those 31 points set a new season-high mark for him.  Micah Wagner was another key contributor,  scoring 18 points.
 Matthews Christian Academy has  been struggling recently, as they've  lost five of their last six matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for New Manna Christian, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Matthews Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scotland Christian Academy at 5:00  p.m.  on January 4, 2024. Hopefully Scotland Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. New Manna Christian will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rockwell Christian School at 6:30  p.m.  on January 5, 2024.
