The Saugus Centurions have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 61-52 to Northwood on Saturday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sidd Raj, who scored 17 points along with three blocks. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Zaid Yunis was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Saugus' defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Northwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Saugus will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Golden Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Golden Valley will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Northwood, they will take on Troy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Troy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Northwood is ranked 78th).
