The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pecos, who took down 403rd ranked Pecos, 45-22. Jesus Flores ran for 169 yards in the win.
Clint extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region I District 3 this week by beating Anthony, 74-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Lions.
Fabens's dynamic duo of Steven Arellano and Jeremy Avelar proved tough for Fort Stockton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Arellano threw for 147 yards and Avelar had 120 yards receiving. Alejandro Guerrero helped Fabens' passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.
Mountain View's Armando Anchondo and Adrian Vargas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Anchondo has thrown for 656 yards this season, while Vargas, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 18 catches for 400 yards. Daniel Vasquez from Clint leads the league in rushing with 502 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lobos take on the Wildcats. Mountain View is currently in first, while Fabens is in fourth.
Gary Rundell's team moved up to 749 from 802 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region I District 3. The Lobos were able to make the jump by defeating the Eagles 45-22.
