Moshannon Valley is 0-10 against West Branch since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Black Knights/Damsels will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Moshannon Valley sitting on three straight wins and West Branch on five.
Moshannon Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Blacklick Valley 18-2 on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Black Knights/Damsels with their most commanding win of the season.
Annabeth Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Anderson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Moshannon Valley got a massive performance out of Jocelyn Vereshack, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Vereshack a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylee O'Donnell, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Moshannon Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blacklick Valley struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, West Branch's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout last Friday. They never let Curwensville get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Makena Moore's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, West Branch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lindsey Bainey, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
The win got Moshannon Valley back to even at 3-3. As for West Branch, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Moshannon Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.9 hits.
