If the Quince Orchard Cougars were feeling good off their 53-30 takedown of the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Quince Orchard suffered a rough 78-58 loss at the hands of River Hill on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Quince Orchard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while River Hill is ranked 11th).
River Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braden Sauritch led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. The contest was Sauritch's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Aiden Igwebe was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Quince Orchard's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for River Hill, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Quince Orchard will be playing at home against Clarksburg at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Clarksburg is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. River Hill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Governor Thomas Johnson at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th.
