Times Squared Academy is 0-9 against Shea since May of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pawtucket at 4:30 p.m. Times Squared Academy has given up an average of 14.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Times Squared Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Tiverton on Wednesday. They lost 16-1 to the Tigers.
Meanwhile, Shea came into Wednesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Central 22-7 on Wednesday. The Pawtucket might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 13 runs or more this season.
Taylor Kane was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gianna Quinones was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Laurel Christian was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Shea was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Shea now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Times Squared Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Times Squared Academy suffered a grim 23-13 defeat to Shea in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
