The Susquehanna Township HANNA will venture away from home to square off against the Harrisburg Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Susquehanna Township is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Susquehanna Township let Camp Hill stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Wednesday but luckily Susquehanna Township prevailed anyway. The HANNA sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Lions.
Susquehanna Township saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Hertz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Hertz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harrisburg). They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Steelton-Highspire on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Radal Penguero was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Penguero was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Janmaury Molina was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Robert Martinez, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Harrisburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Susquehanna Township has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Harrisburg, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Susquehanna Township has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harrisburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
