The Wyatt Chaparrals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Southwest, posting a 74-19 win at home. That 74-19 margin sets a new team best for Wyatt this season.
Wyatt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zyniesha Horner, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Cynaa Weathers was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Wyatt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Southwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyatt will be home for the holidays to greet North Side at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Polytechnic at 12:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
