Fountain Hills and Scottsdale Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Fountain Hills got the win against Camp Verde by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

The team relied heavily on Lucas Grieco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Eli Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Fountain Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Camp Verde only posted an OBP of .385.
Meanwhile, while Scottsdale Christian Academy put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Madison Highland Prep. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Heat. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won five matches in a row.
Owen Kendrick and Dylan Tims were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Kendrick pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Tims pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Kendrick scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Tims scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Trevor Green and Hank Berg did most of the damage at the plate: Green went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Berg scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Berg is becoming a predictor of Scottsdale Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Luke Troxell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Fountain Hills, their record is now 9-5-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fountain Hills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. However, it's not like Scottsdale Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .483. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fountain Hills couldn't quite get it done against Scottsdale Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 4-1. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
