The Crawfordsville Athenians will head out on the road to take on the Covington Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crawfordsville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Thursday, Crawfordsville ended up a good deal behind Riverton Parke and lost 35-21.
Covington suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 64-23 loss at the hands of Parke Heritage. While losing is never fun, Covington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Parke Heritage is ranked 102nd).
Crawfordsville bumped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Covington, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Crawfordsville won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2023, slipping by Covington 50-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crawfordsville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
