NCSSM: Morganton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Madison, falling 76-43.
Despite the loss, NCSSM: Morganton still got an impressive performance from Lawson Taylor, who scored 21 points. That was a full 48.8% of NCSSM: Morganton's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vedant Chanshetty, who scored nine points.
Madison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Gault out in front who scored 21 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Jason Eighmey, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
NCSSM: Morganton now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Madison, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
NCSSM: Morganton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Avery County at 7:00 p.m. Avery County is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to face off against Rosman at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rosman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 back in December of 2023.
