Edinburg North has gone a perfect 10-0 against Weslaco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cougars will square off against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Edinburg North barely beat Economedes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars blew past the Jaguars 3-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.
Edinburg North walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edinburg North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylin Dominguez, who had 24 digs. Dominguez has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played. Zoe Castillo was another key player, getting ten digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Weslaco made easy work of La Joya on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Edinburg North better focus on containing Madison Martinez and Sati Alonzo as the pair were huge in Weslaco's win. Martinez had 13 assists and six aces, while Alonzo had 14 assists and seven aces. Those six aces gave Martinez a new career-high.
Weslaco was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive matchups.
Edinburg North's record is now 15-11. As for Weslaco, their record now sits at 18-14.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Edinburg North has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6 aces per game. However, it's not like Weslaco struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
