The George Washington Prep Generals are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the Elizabeth Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. George Washington Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
George Washington Prep will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Rise Kohyang on Wednesday. George Washington Prep was the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over Rise Kohyang. The Generals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Aracely Gonzales was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, George Washington Prep let Emily Varela and Teaka Evans run wild. Varela scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3, while Evans got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs Evans has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Semaj Sims, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
George Washington Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth had to start their season on the road on March 3rd, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Contreras, falling 28-4. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.
The victory got George Washington Prep back to even at 2-2. As for Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything went George Washington Prep's way against Elizabeth when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as George Washington Prep made off with a 28-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for George Washington Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
