The Monroe City Panthers are on the road again on Friday and plays the Centralia Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Monroe City proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 36) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Routt Catholic 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Monroe City has posted since January 15th.
Meanwhile, Centralia can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against Highland as Centralia made off with a 70-47 win. The win was familiar territory for Centralia who now have three in a row.
Monroe City has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Centralia, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
Monroe City came up short against Centralia when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 43-34. Can Monroe City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
