On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Chicago Hope Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-38 loss to Wheaton Academy.
Chicago Hope Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amoria Allen, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Centeno, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Chicago Hope Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Wheaton Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chicago Hope Academy on the road again on Thursday and play against Prosser at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Wheaton Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westminster Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Westminster Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while Wheaton Academy is ranked 162nd).
