Hamlet Perez put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Thursday. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Perez and Sarasota will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bartow at 7:30 p.m. The last time Perez duked it out with the Yellow Jackets (last Friday), the Sailors came out on top by a score of 13-4.
