The Knightdale Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Wake Forest Cougars at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Wake Forest took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Knightdale, who comes in off a win.
Knightdale only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point they dealt Broughton on Wednesday. Knightdale blew past Broughton 63-40. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Broughton is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isaiah Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five steals. Green is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Dickerson, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leesville Road.
The win makes it two in a row for Knightdale and bumps their season record up to 10-4. As for Wake Forest, they bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Knightdale came up short against Wake Forest in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 55-43. Can Knightdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
