The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Austin Achieve in their matchups with La Grange: they've now lost seven in a row.
Nathan Scott was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds for La Grange. The matchup was Scott's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Oliver Gunn, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds.
Austin Achieve has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for La Grange, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Austin Achieve will challenge Smithville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithville has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for La Grange, they will head out on the road to face off against Giddings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Giddings is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
