Rio Rico has gone a perfect 10-0 against Amphitheater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Hawks will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Amphitheater took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rio Rico, who comes in off a win.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Rio Rico took on Thatcher on Tuesday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Victoria Madrid made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ayleen Salcido, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Mariana Santamaria was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
Rio Rico kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Rio Rico, falling 17-3.
Isabella Espinoza was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Talisa Yrigolla, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Amphitheater's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Rio Rico, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9.
