Pine Forest extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping their season record down to 13-11 in the process. They lost 12-1 to the Terry Sanford Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 on Tuesday.
Pine Forest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Temple, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Temple has hit this season.
As for Terry Sanford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Considering they have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Terry Sanford's side, Josh Mozingo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Mozingo posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since April 2nd. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Jack Reaves tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since April 2nd. Kyle Kessinger was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Pine Forest nor Terry Sanford have any future games scheduled.
