Oklahoma Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week by beating Dibble, 56-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Saints.
Oklahoma Christian took down the Demons 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin Brooks threw for 258 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 17 yards in the win.
Derek Turner's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Palmer Rice chipped in 61 yards. Blake Barnes helped Oklahoma Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 70 yards.
Connor Sikes was the best wideout in the league this week as the Saints bested Dibble. Sikes racked up two receptions for 76 yards.
Oklahoma Christian's Brooks and Barnes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 1569 yards this season, while Barnes, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 25 catches for 496 yards. JR Conard's team's Tazden Jevons leads the league in rushing yards with 1233.
A big matchup in 2A District 2 this week will be when the Saints take on Christian Heritage. Oklahoma Christian is currently in first, while the Crusaders are in fourth.
The Saints made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,604 from 2,096. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 56-7 victory over the Demons last week.
