It was a good run, but the Rio Vista Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 52-45 to Vacaville Christian. Rio Vista was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Ashlynd Rhett and John Peterson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Rhett dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Peterson scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Peterson scored 15 or more points.
Brian Laxamana was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds for Vacaville Christian. Another player making a difference was Adam Foreman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rio Vista's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Vacaville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Vista will take on the Scots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Vacaville Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
