Strathmore is 2-8 against Corcoran since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans will challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Strathmore came out on top against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Spartans never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Gracie Gillis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Strathmore got a massive performance out of Drew Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Anderson a new career-high. Katlin Andrade was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Strathmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Corcoran challenged Lindsay on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Cardinals 12-2. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Strathmore, Corcoran also got a great game from a two-way player: Melody Garcia. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rihanna Bravo was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Natalie Luna, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Strathmore's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 16-6. As for Corcoran, their record is now 14-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Strathmore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Corcoran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Strathmore was able to grind out a solid victory over Corcoran in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
