A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Bend Washington Panthers duke it out with the South Bend Riley Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

South Bend Washington took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They managed a 68-64 victory over Crown Point. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked second).

South Bend Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Steven Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Reynolds has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was DaKori Parker, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, South Bend Riley waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 65-58 victory over the Raiders.

South Bend Washington has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for South Bend Riley, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
