The Tulpehocken Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-30 walloping at the hands of Antietam. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tulpehocken in their matchups with Antietam: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Tulpehocken had strong showings from Aidan Schwalm, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds, and Lucas Werner, who scored eight points. Werner scored a full 26.7% of Tulpehocken's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Antietam found their leader in underclassman AJ Schiefly, who scored 21 points along with five steals. The contest was Schiefly's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Coste, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Tulpehocken bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Antietam, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.
Tulpehocken will head out on the road to face off against Kutztown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kutztown is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Antietam will be home for the holidays to greet Oley Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
