Williams Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Williams Valley came up short against Annville-Cleona and fell 50-43.
Meanwhile, Marian Catholic also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Schuylkill Haven by a score of 61-53.
Despite their defeat, Marian Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jesse Rodino, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Bruce Hopeck, who scored 11 points.
Williams Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Marian Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Williams Valley came up short against Marian Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 63-52. Thankfully for Williams Valley, Frank Valente (who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
