The Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks's game on Thursday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 56-44 to Pleasanton. Jayhawk Linn has not had much luck with Pleasanton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Jayhawk Linn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Broyles. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Johnson, who scored six points.
Pleasanton found their leader in underclassman Mario Davis, who scored 20 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least a third of Pleasanton's points. Alex Foster was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Jayhawk Linn has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Pleasanton, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jayhawk Linn will take on St. Paul at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jayhawk Linn is on a four-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), St. Paul a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Pleasanton will take on Chetopa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasanton is facing Chetopa at the right time seeing as Chetopa is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
