The Riverside Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Spring Valley Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Riverside was handed an eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chapmanville Regional, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since May 15, 2025.
Riverside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Mullins, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Keelee Harrison also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Spring Valley came out on top against St. Albans on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Timberwolves were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Red Dragons. The Timberwolves haven't had any issues with the Red Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Addie Lowe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Lowe was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Ellis, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Layla Marshall was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Riverside's record is now 6-3. As for Spring Valley, their record now sits at 4-6.
Spring Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. It's a different story for Spring Valley, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Riverside's hitters?
Riverside suffered a grim 21-9 defeat to Spring Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
