Basketball Recap: Kyle Aulgur Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Kansas City East Christian Academy

Mid-Missouri HomeSchool posted their closest win since December 28, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions 48-45. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyle Aulgur, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hayes, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 14 points and five assists.

Mid-Missouri HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kansas City East Christian Academy only nine assists.

Kansas City East Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Maddox Carrillo and Ryder Cartwright. Carrillo posted 15 points along with five boards and three steals, while Cartwright scored ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Carrillo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damian Law, who earned nine points.

Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's record is now 23-12. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they moved to 15-20 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
