Mountain Brook had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Homewood Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 24-26, 26-24.

Lucy Comer paced Mountain Brook's offense, picking up 18 kills. Comer got some help from Darby Rhodes and her 31 assists. Sullivan Lell controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Mountain Brook picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 11-14. As for Homewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Mountain Brook will face off against Pelham at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Homewood, they will head out to square off against Auburn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
