After flying high against IDEA North Mission two weeks ago, the IDEA Quest College Prep Trailblazers came back down to earth. IDEA Quest College Prep took a hard 34-19 fall against Idea Academy on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for IDEA Quest College Prep in their matchups with Idea Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.
Idea Academy can attribute much of their success to Layla Perez, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Perez has scored at least 25% of Idea Academy's points. America Cortez was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 13 rebounds.
IDEA Quest College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Idea Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
IDEA Quest College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Idea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024. As for Idea Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vanguard Academy Beethoven at 6:00 p.m.
