The Alta Hawks will challenge the American Fork Cavemen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. American Fork took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alta, who comes in off a win.
Alta took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Green Canyon by a score of 11-8. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Danica Doyle made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. Doyle was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alta got a massive performance out of June Sylvia, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Taylor Johnson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, American Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 7-4 to Cedar Valley.
Andi Gardner was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Adamson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
American Fork's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Alta, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
