Manchester Academy proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 14) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Kirk Academy Raiders 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Mavericks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Craig Paul, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 12 contests. Another player making a difference was Joseph Beidleman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Manchester Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

Manchester Academy's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Kirk Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
