Carthage put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 61-56 W against the Athens Hornets. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carthage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kj Edwards, who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 69 receiving yards and one score. Another passer making a difference was Jett Surratt, who threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes.
