Leggett won the last time they faced Burkeville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Leggett Pirates skirted past the Burkeville Mustangs 53-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Smith, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalep Adams, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Leggett has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Burkeville, they moved to 5-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Leggett didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 95-28 defeat against Brookeland on the 17th. Burkeville has also already played their next contest (against Hull-Daisetta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
