The Maple Hill Wildcats put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Mekeel Christian Academy at home to the tune of 68-15. Given Maple Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Mekeel Christian Academy is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maple Hill found their leader in underclassman Addison Loszynski, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Loszynski is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Emily Coffey was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Maple Hill's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Maple Hill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tamarac at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Scotia-Glenville on Tuesday.
