The Santa Fe Raiders were the 57-29 winner over the Eastside Rams when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Santa Fe fell 53-42 to Eastside on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Santa Fe has scored all season.
Eastside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quashawn Brittingham, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Pugh, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Santa Fe and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Eastside, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Fe won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fort White at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Fort White presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Fe in Florida (Fort White is ranked 110th, while Santa Fe is ranked 414th). As for Eastside, they will be playing at home against Raines at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Raines is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
