This season hasn't been kind to the Hull Pirates, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were dealt a 73-46 loss at the hands of Avon on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hull can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Avon is ranked 57th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Avon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Edwards, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Edwards hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Nyisah Miranda was another key contributor, scoring 24 points.
Hull's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Avon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Hull will head out on the road to take on Carver at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Avon, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Upper Cape Cod RVT at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th.
