Softball Recap: Mountain Valley Has No Trouble Against Telstar

Mountain Valley won the last time they faced Telstar and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons blew past the Rebels 21-8. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Mountain Valley got a massive performance out of Layce Boucher, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Boucher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ali Mazza, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.

Mountain Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Mountain Valley's record now sits at 9-4. As for Telstar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Valley will venture away from home to challenge Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Telstar, they will head out to take on Temple Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
