In what's become a running theme this season, the Sapulpa Chieftains gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Everything went their way against Coweta as Sapulpa made off with a 58-35 win. The victory was familiar territory for Sapulpa who now have three in a row.
Sapulpa was led to victory by Taylor Bilby and Tyla Heard. Bilby scored 17 points, while Heard scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Heard is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Riki Mcquarters was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Sapulpa has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Coweta, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sapulpa will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Chieftains are ranked 23rd). As for Coweta, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
