The Appling Christian Academy Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the First Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Appling Christian Academy managed to keep up with Grace Christian Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Appling Christian Academy had to suffer through a rough 83-53 loss at the hands of Grace Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Appling Christian Academy in their matchups with Grace Christian Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alex Coursey, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaden Drake, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, First Academy managed to keep up with Heritage Christian Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. First Academy was dealt a 50-14 loss at the hands of Heritage Christian Academy. First Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, First Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rylan Peacock, who scored 6 points, was perhaps the best of all.
Their wins bumped Appling Christian Academy to 3-4 and Grace Christian Academy to 7-0.
