The Phoebus Phantoms had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Hampton 56-8 at home. Phoebus' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Hampton lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Jamarrie Lumpkins. Despite the final result, he gained 130 total yards and a touchdown.
Phoebus has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49.09 points. As for Hampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Phoebus will play host again and welcome Warhill, where kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Warhill is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
