Make it eight blowout wins for the Polk County Wolverines this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Brevard 63-32 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Polk County has posted since December 27, 2023.
Polk County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bailey Staton, who scored 23 points. Kylie Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Polk County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Brevard, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
Polk County will take on Patton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Patton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 531st, while Polk County is ranked 253rd). As for Brevard, they will head out on the road to take on East Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully East Rutherford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
