Damian Fischer put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Zach Perry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Max Olson was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run.
Even though they lost, Rock Canyon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Cherokee Trail earned a 6-1 victory over Legend on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Ethin Woltz looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Jacob Ryan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Michael Zimmerman, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Rock Canyon came out on top in a nail-biter against Cherokee Trail when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Will Rock Canyon repeat their success, or does Cherokee Trail have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
