Meanwhile, Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Science Leadership Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44.
Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mikhael Batties, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kwasi Hawkins, who scored 11 points.
Philadelphia Military Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
