The Palisades Pumas posted their biggest win since November 20, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Berry 56-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Palisades.
Palisades got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tynilla Simpkins out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Simpkins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Abdullah, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Berry's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jamauria Coleman, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds, and Zahnia Long who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Long is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Palisades' win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Berry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Palisades will be playing in front of their home fans against Myers Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Myers Park will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Berry, they will head out on the road to square off against South Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Mecklenburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Berry in North Carolina (South Mecklenburg is ranked 130th, while Berry is ranked 463rd).
