Issaiah Alvarado made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lawndale is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Alvarado was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Seth Alex Rodriguez was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eddie Dominguez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Lawndale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
