They managed a 52-48 victory over Salpointe Catholic. That's another feather in the cap for Cienega, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cienega to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Rodgers, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Isaac Sdobnev was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Martinez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bobby Smith, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Cienega's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Salpointe Catholic, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cienega will take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Buena is ranked 69th, while Cienega is ranked 61st). As for Salpointe Catholic, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Flowing Wells is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
