NORWALK, Calif. - After two lead changes,
Downey (Calif.) took the lead for good when
Justin Huff ran for a touchdown with 5:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Norwalk (Calif.) 45-42 on Saturday.
The score was knotted at 21 heading into the half. The Vikings took the lead for good on a touchdown run by Huff in the fourth quarter.
Downey's most effective player was Huff. The sophomore running back ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored 21 touchdowns on the season.
Rashaad Penny made a difference for the Lancers. The junior wingback ran for four touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 35 on the year.
The defeat comes as a step back for Norwalk, which notched a 49-14 victory over Burbank in its previous outing. With the win DHS extended its winning streak to four games. The loss snapped Norwalk's 2-game winning streak.
