The Harvest Christian Academy Saints scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Lakewood Presbyterian at home to the tune of 81-27. The win was some much needed relief for Harvest Christian Academy as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Leading Harvest Christian Academy to victory were Elijah Cleary and Andy Cumbest. Cleary scored 23 points, while Cumbest scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Harrington, who scored ten points.
Lakewood Presbyterian's loss came despite strong showings from Steven Montgomery and Aiden Goering. Montgomery scored nine points along with three blocks, while Goering scored ten points.
Harvest Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Lakewood Presbyterian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Harvest Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trinity Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Trinity Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lakewood Presbyterian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Faustina Academy at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Faustina Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
